Who Is a Doctor of Chiropractic?
A chiropractor is a primary care health professional who assesses, diagnoses, and treats the conditions related to the spine, muscles, joints and related nervous system.
Is Chiropractor a Regulated Health Professional?
YES. Chiropractors who practice in Ontario must be registered with the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO).
Is Chiropractic Care Covered by OHIP?
NO. OHIP does not cover chiropractic care. However, many Extended Health Care Plans, WSIB, and Motor Vehicle Accident benefits cover chiropractic care. It's best to contact your insurance company to find out the details of your coverage.
Is a Chiropractor a Primary Contact Health Professional?
YES. Chiropractors are primary health professionals in every province in Canada.
What Does a Chiropractor Do?
Chiropractors diagnose and provide care to patients with a variety of health concerns related to the spine, muscles, all joints and related nervous system, including but not limited to the lower back, neck and shoulder, elbow and wrist, hip, knee pain, sports injuries, work-related injuries and post-accident, and overall wellness care.

Chiropractors focus on patient-centered care, use manual therapies, and often work in collaboration with other regulated health professionals.
What Can I Expect From a Chiropractor?

    Included but not limited to:

  • An initial assessment and consultation. The Doctor will review your complaint and case history, ask questions, and review relevant paperwork and available reports. A chiropractic examination may include orthopedic, neurological, muscle function, joint function, and radiographic testing
  • An explanation and consent to a physical examination and appropriate diagnostic tests
  • Presenting a report of finding
  • Recommendations for care, which may include a course of chiropractic adjustment or manipulation and/or adjunctive therapies, such as muscle therapy, electrotherapy, lifestyle advice, and recommendation of assistive devices
  • A referral to another regulated health professional if the chiropractor feels the health condition of the patient is outside the chiropractic scope of practice
Is Chiropractic Care Suitable for Children?
Chiropractic care is safe for children and can be beneficial for various conditions, such as non-congenital Torticollis (wryneck), colic, postural imbalance, growing pain, sports injuries, etc. Pediatric chiropractic care is gentle and specifically tailored to the needs of young patients.
Do Chiropractic Treatments Hurt?
Most chiropractic treatments are painless. You might feel mild discomfort if your muscles are sore, but many people find the adjustments relieving. We will ensure you're comfortable throughout the session.
How Many Chiropractic Sessions Will I Need?
The number of sessions needed varies depending on your condition, severity, and individual response to treatment. Some patients experience relief after a single or a few visits, while others may require ongoing care for chronic issues.

Whatever the case might be - we'll do our best to make sure you experience progress as quickly as possible.
